The course
Starts and finishes near Islands Brygge on a fast single-lap loop past the lakes, Norrebro and the harbourfront. Flat, wide roads and huge crowds make it a Gold Label PB course.
Where to stay
Vesterbro and Indre By (city centre) are walkable to the start; Norrebro puts you on the route itself.
Getting there
Copenhagen Airport is 15 minutes to the centre by metro; the Islands Brygge start is a short metro hop from downtown.
That weekend
WRRC Copenhagen 26 runs 19–20 Sep (mile & 5K Saturday; half Sunday). Expo and shakeouts follow the championship programme; add Nyhavn and Tivoli the same weekend. Regular CPH Half returns in 2027.
Sample 4-day trip
Arrive, explore, race, then head home. A proper weekend, not a rushed fly-by.
-
Day 1: Arrive
Fly into Copenhagen (CPH). The Metro reaches the centre in about 15 minutes. Public transport is excellent and the race leans on it heavily (roads close). Book a private transfer for late arrivals.
Check into Vesterbro, Indre By, or Nørrebro . In 2026 this is the WRRC championship half weekend, not the regular CPH Half (that returns in 2027).
-
Day 2: Shakedown Run and Explore the City
Collect your bib at the WRRC Copenhagen 26 expo . The championship weekend includes mile and 5K events on Saturday; check the programme.
Jog an easy shakeout around the lakes. Afternoon for Nyhavn at a stroll or Tivoli tickets . Pin the bib and rest: Sunday is the world-championship half.
-
Day 3: Race Day
Starts and finishes near Islands Brygge on a flat, fast loop. Metro is the best way in on race morning when roads close. Arrive early for bag drop.
Afterwards, celebrate in Vesterbro or along the harbour. Keep the evening gentle: championship fields and flat streets make this a serious day of racing.
-
Day 4: Final Day
If the flight allows, one last Nyhavn coffee or a slow canal wander. Metro back to CPH is straightforward.
Three nights covers championship expo logistics and a calm exit after a fast half.
