The course

A single loop starting on Boulevard Saint-Germain and threading the Bois de Vincennes and eastern arrondissements before finishing at Place de la Bastille. Largely flat with a lively city feel.

Where to stay

Le Marais and the Latin Quarter sit close to the start and finish; Bastille itself is ideal for the finish line.

Getting there

Charles de Gaulle is 35-50 minutes to central Paris by RER B; the Saint-Germain start is a short Metro ride.

That weekend

The expo village is at Grande Halle de la Villette; the weekend suits Seine cruises, the Louvre and a stroll along the Marais.

Sample 4-day trip

Arrive, explore, race, then head home. A proper weekend, not a rushed fly-by.

  1. Day 1: Arrive

Fly into Charles de Gaulle (CDG). RER B reaches central Paris in about 35 minutes. Public transport works well. Book a private transfer for late flights.

Check into Saint-Germain, the Marais, or Bastille . The world's biggest half starts on Boulevard Saint-Germain.

  2. Day 2: Shakedown Run and Explore the City

Collect your bib at the expo at Grande Halle de la Villette . Allow time for queues at this massive half.

Jog an easy Seine-side shakeout. Afternoon for Louvre or Marais wandering . Early dinner near your hotel.

  3. Day 3: Race Day

The loop finishes at Place de la Bastille. From Saint-Germain or the Marais, a short Metro hop covers most hotels. Arrive early.

Afterwards, celebrate with a long café lunch. Keep walking light: 40,000 runners mean crowded streets.

  4. Day 4: Final Day

If the flight allows, one last Seine stroll or river cruise . RER B back to CDG is straightforward, but leave margin.

Three nights turns the world's biggest half into a proper Paris city break.
