The course

A fast, flat loop starting and finishing on the riverbank in the Old Town, crossing the Vltava several times with castle views.

Where to stay

Staré Město (Old Town) puts you within walking distance of the start; Malá Strana is quieter and just across Charles Bridge.

Getting there

PRG has no rail link. Take trolleybus 59 to Nádraží Veleslavín, then Metro A into the centre (~35–45 min), or the Airport Express bus to the main station. Allow extra time on race morning.

That weekend

Friday/Saturday expo at the O2 universum, an easy shakeout across Charles Bridge before the crowds, and the running-festival atmosphere along the river.

Sample 4-day trip

Arrive, explore, race, then head home. A proper weekend, not a rushed fly-by.

  1. Day 1: Arrive

Fly into Prague (PRG). There is no rail from the airport. Take trolleybus 59 to Nádraží Veleslavín, then Metro A into Old Town in about 35–45 minutes, or the Airport Express bus to the main station (special fare, not covered by a standard PID ticket). Book a private transfer if you land late or have heavy kit.

Check into Old Town or Malá Strana , keep the evening gentle, and confirm expo hours at O2 universum for tomorrow.

  2. Day 2: Shakedown Run and Explore the City

Collect your bib at the RunCzech expo at O2 universum (Friday or Saturday). Pair it with an easy shakeout across Charles Bridge before the crowds build.

Keep the rest of the day light: castle views from afar, a river stroll, or a Vltava cruise if you want something booked. Early dinner and an early night suit a fast riverside half.

  3. Day 3: Race Day

The start sits on the Old Town riverbank. From Staré Město or Malá Strana, many runners walk or take a short Metro hop . Arrive early for bag drop and start pens.

Afterwards, celebrate nearby with a simple Czech meal. Save castle tours for tomorrow if legs allow. The course is flat and fast; enjoy the Vltava loops.

  4. Day 4: Final Day

If the flight allows, Prague Castle or a slow wander through Malá Strana makes a civilised send-off. Trolleybus 59 and Metro A back to PRG work well, but leave margin after a race. A private transfer to the airport is easier with tired legs.

Three nights turns Prague into a proper city break with a fairy-tale half in the middle.
