The course

Widely rated the flattest big-city marathon in Europe: a fast loop starting and finishing by the Olympic Stadium on Isla de la Cartuja, winding through the historic centre.

Where to stay

Santa Cruz (old Jewish quarter) for charm and walkability; Alameda for a livelier, cheaper base a little north of the centre.

Getting there

SVQ airport is ~35 min via the EA airport bus to the centre; February weather is cool and ideal for racing.

That weekend

Cathedral and Real Alcázar visits, a shakeout along the Guadalquivir, and tapas in Triana across the river once you have your medal.

Sample 4-day trip

Arrive, explore, race, then head home. A proper weekend, not a rushed fly-by.

  1. Day 1: Arrive

Fly into Seville (SVQ). The EA airport bus reaches the centre in about 35 minutes (around €6). Public transport works well for most runners. A private transfer helps with late flights or awkward bags.

Check into Santa Cruz or Alameda . February weather is cool and ideal for racing. Keep the evening easy.

  2. Day 2: Shakedown Run and Explore the City

Collect your bib at the Zurich Seville Marathon expo . Jog an easy shakeout along the Guadalquivir before the crowds arrive.

Book Alcázar tickets if you want a fixed plan, or wander Triana for tapas at an easy pace. This is Europe's flattest big-city marathon: save your legs.

  3. Day 3: Race Day

The loop starts and finishes by the Olympic Stadium on Isla de la Cartuja. Check race-day transport and arrive early. The course is pancake flat through the historic centre.

Afterwards, tapas in Triana across the river is the classic reward. Keep walking light and skip a big late night.

  4. Day 4: Final Day

If the flight allows, the cathedral, Plaza de España, or one last coffee in Santa Cruz still fits. The EA airport bus back to SVQ is straightforward. Leave margin after 42 km, or book a transfer to the airport .

Three nights covers expo, race, and a calm exit without limping through security.
