The course
The 10K (the 'Mila') starts and finishes in central Tromso, crossing the arching Tromso Bridge for sweeping views over the fjord and snow-capped peaks. Run in the perpetual daylight of the Arctic midnight sun, it is as much a spectacle as a race.
Where to stay
Stay in central Tromso around the harbour and Storgata, all within walking distance of the start line and nightlife.
Getting there
Tromso Airport (TOS) is just 10-15 minutes from the centre by Flybussen airport bus or taxi.
That weekend
A city-centre expo handles bib collection; the full weekend includes marathon and half distances, plus fjord cruises and cable-car trips up Mount Storsteinen.
Sample 4-day trip
Arrive, explore, race, then head home. A proper weekend, not a rushed fly-by.
-
Day 1: Arrive
Fly into Tromsø (TOS). The airport bus reaches the centre in 10–15 minutes. Book a private transfer for late arrivals.
Check into central Tromsø near the harbour . The Mila 10K crosses Tromsø Bridge under perpetual daylight.
-
Day 2: Shakedown Run and Explore the City
Collect your bib at the Midnight Sun Marathon expo . Jog an easy waterfront shakeout.
Ride the Fjellheisen cable car or book a fjord cruise. Rest before the evening start.
-
Day 3: Race Day
Evening start on the scenic Arctic 10K. From central hotels, walk to the start. The Tromsø Bridge climb delivers fjord and peak views.
Afterwards, celebrate nearby. Arctic daylight makes this as much spectacle as race.
-
Day 4: Final Day
Sleep in, then a slow harbour coffee or fjord cruise . Airport bus back to TOS is quick, but leave margin.
